In regards to this hand holding on long bumpy car rides matter, did this begin before the car ride to my house that week when you came for shabbos or was that the beginning of it? Anyhow, I don't think I ever gave you a proper posting (or at least not the standard, so here it is): Hashem should give you and Dovi continued simcha, bracha, hatzlacha and everything good now and in your future together!
