Dear Joel David David Joel, I am so happy for you. THis is geshmak news! You should have a geshmak time! Sruli sent a pretty long post. Have fun. Noah Baron
(05-Feb-09)
Mazel Tov! I can't wait to dance at your chasunah, but I guess this time I'll have to just drive by myself. Oh well, I guess you'll owe me some quality time before the wedding - don't worry I'm sure you can think of some errand that needs to get done in all your spare time. Seriously, B"H after all our long talks Esther you got what you were looking for: somebody in between but perfect for you, so of course he's an "out-of-towner", although Vancouver is pretty far, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for Philly in the big decision. May you and Joel have lots of simcha, bracha, hatzlacha, good health, and all good things!
(04-Feb-09)
Dear Esther & Joel Q, Mazal Tov on your engagement! The pictures you posted are beautiful and I'm so happy for you! Joel: The Q after Esther's name was bestowed upon her in recognition of her true awesomeness. Since you are now getting married, the official fan club is honored to bestow the Q upon you as well. All the best for years of happiness together!

Well if it isn’t Joel David and his mystery bride. Hey guys, listen, I’m thinking of a number from one to ten. Just thought I should let you know. Anyway, this is all happening so fast. Why it seems like it was just yesterday that it was Shabbos. Oh, it was? I thought so. Ya know, Joel and I have developed quite a special friendship over the years. But seriously, many people are unaware that Joel is currently in his first year of medical school on his way to the prestigious degree of Doctor of Ornithology, which I think is great. There are just so many sick birds out there and I know that a little acupuncture and yoga are all they need to get them flying again. But be forewarned Joel, for although it is only your first year you will soon enough be required to choose a subspecialty within the broad field of Origami. The temptations are many. Let not you heart be swayed by some false ideal for once you choose there is no going back. Orthodontology is a very unforgiving discipline. Perhaps the following true story will serve as a cautionary tale: “Bovine proctology is a delicate yet underappreciated art. It demands of its practitioners a fluency in general proctology as well as a somewhat inappropriate love of cows. In the vast majority of the human populace these traits are congenitally mutually exclusive, and so they should be. But as fate would have it- and it would- these were the very two characteristics by which close friends of Dr. Timbrough Deebah, if asked, would describe him. Some, such as his wife, would tearfully speak of the long weekends he spent driving around upstate New York, eagerly admiring the never-ending smorgasbord of bovid behinds, his hands quivering at the thought of jumping an electrified fence. But alas and to his dismay Dr. Deebah was not at all a bovine proctologist. No, contrary to what a highly trained genetic engineer might have predicted Dr. Timbrough Deebah was a plain old, run of the mill unemployed homeless man. Well, perhaps homeless is not the right word. He had a home, a very nice one in fact, enclosed on all sides by a white picket fence and filled with slightly irregular still life paintings that he and his aforementioned wife had purchased at a wholesale art auction when they were first engaged. Come to think of it, unemployed seems to be inaccurate as well. Dr. Deebah did have a job, and a very important one at that. He was a long-tenured professor of English literature at a well known private university and though his dissertation, as well as most of his scholarly publications to date, had focused on the role of olfactory imagery in late Victorian era grocery lists, his colleagues couldn’t help but notice that he had of late developed a peculiar interest in 19th century cattle feed ingredients. They thought this was weird; and indeed it was. But for all his jobfullness and domicility he may as well have been homeless and unemployed for, aside from the one seminar he led each week on the significance of oats in the writings of Robert Frost, Dr. Deebah spent all of his time perched anxiously on a bench directly across from the agricultural livestock exhibit at a local zoo. Also, he slept in a box. When asked, which he never was, about his extracurricular lollygagging his argument would go something like this: “It is highly improbable that the zoo veterinarian will go an entire year without calling in sick. It is also highly improbable that an entire year will pass without at least one cow requiring immediate medical attention. Therefore, by the rule of transjuxtaposition it follows that not only are both of these events highly likely to happen, but they will almost certainly occur on the very same day. I’m just trying to be prepared. After all, I am a doctor… of sorts.” And as illogical as it sounds that is precisely what happened. It seems that due to conditions that are entirely his own business so butt out, the zoo veterinarian had contracted a transmissible spongiform encephalopathy from an alluring heifer named Bessy. Bessy, misinterpreting the veterinarian’s sudden leave of absence as a slight to her muliebrity, proceeded to throw a bovinic fit. This, assumed Dr. Deebah, was his chance. Thinking quickly- perhaps a bit too quickly- he grabbed the first aid kit that he kept in his briefcase and ran toward the short fence that stood between him and his destiny. Unfortunately, due to a severe imprinting error during childhood, the animal that most people call “cow”, or Bos Taurus if you want to be a jerk about it, was not at all what Timbrough Debah pictured when he heard that word. In fact, what he pictured was much closer to what most people would call “grandma”. This made for a very awkward, though somehow visually poetic, moment as Dr. Deebah attempted to administer CPR to an entire flock of fairly healthy, though completely unawares octogenarians. Needless to say, they were not amused. This, then, is how Dr. Timbrough Deebah, a heretofore well-respected professor of English literature, was banned from interacting with animals, or the elderly, ever again.” Mazal Tov.

So....Ariella forced me to sign your page because of your little deal (even though I already signed, so does my post even count?). But I love signing pages (but probably not as much as you love reading them!), so it's okay! Thanks for putting up pics (a good move on your part because you get more posts that way too) Who knows, maybe you'll be the featured gallery and the posts will definitely start pouring in! You guys look so happy together! If I'm in the mood tomorrow, maybe I'll post again with some childhood memories! 8 down 2 to go!
(28-Jan-09)

We'd also like to publicly anounce our forgiveness for going behind our backs with this shidduch (come on joel, you couldn't wait 2 days for us to come back from toronto?!?!) With all that said, Mazal tov again and we can't wait for the wedding! oh and for bomzer's post (where is it already?) Now that you have posted pictures the boycott has been lifted and I'm signing: Dearest E.Q. and Mr. David, Mazal Tov!!! I am so so so thrilled for you both! ...I'm just kvelling at how beautifully my little E.Q. has grown up! Joel, as I'm sure you are well aware Esther is incredible, unique and a truly beautiful person inside and out. While we have not met in person, I can assume that you too must be pretty incredible for Esther to have chosen you as her dude (as Esther can tell you that is a Lisi term of utmost endearment and honor). Esther, it is so wonderful to hear your joy and sheer bliss even through the phone thousands of miles away - I ache to be able to be there dancing with you. Esther and Joel, together you two shine (I can see that in the pictures) like a beautiful, charismatic couple - I can't wait to get together with you both "keday le'heetrashem meHaZugiyoot." Mazal Tov Esther and Joel! I am so so excited for you and I can't wait to meet Joel! But I require that the wedding must be in August and that you must post a picture because i really can't keep imagining what Joel looks like. I'm kind of nervous to see what he really looks like because my imagination has been running astray for so long! So, nu, post a picture! And again, I am so thrilled for you both!
(26-Jan-09)
Mazel tov!!! I'm so excited for you both, even though I've never met Joel! Sometimes it can be a challenge to find the positive side to every situation, but this is easy! May you build a bayis neeman b'yisrael! Esther, I can't wait to see you soon!
(26-Jan-09)

(26-Jan-09)
WOAH!! You're in big trouble!! And I just confirmed it with Leah so you're in DOUBLE TROUBLE! AND Morah Goldy signed!? That makes you in TRIPPLE TROUBLE, Esther! I can't believe I'm signing your only simchas page! This is so exciting! So since I know ZERO information, including the number of times you went out, I just want to let your Chosson (or chatan?) know that he really doesn't know you. Esther is a person who wears many hats. Usually not all at once cause that would look weird, but they could be considered stacked up one on top of the other. See, Esther went to this elementary school called Abrams where she was frummest person there. This means that her and her whole mishpacha were (and still is) shomer shabbos, like for real. Then she went to a school called T.A. (I wasn't there so couldn't really tell ya anything about that), and worked in a day camp called Camp Yedid. I hear Esther laughing already (you should know hopefully by now that Esther laughs at many things). Since there is SO much to say, I'll just mention that this hat includes her ability to enlighten other Lakewood counselors about dignified, prestigious institutions of intelligence, other then BMG of course, such as Michlala and Darchei Bina. Then she has the U of P and finally the nursing hat (do nurses wear hats anymore? They used to, right?) But now, Esther Hakallah, you will be wearing the best hat of all: the wife hat. Until we speak on the phone, and you spill every single detail, I wish you guys much bracha and simcha and only good things until 120. And by the way- if I find out you moved to Eretz Yisroal from some random person... consider this a warning : )
(26-Jan-09)
Dear Esther:We are so happy to hear your good news. We have very fond memories of you at our home in Philly and are very appreciative of all you did for Elaine when she got married. You are such a sweet person and deserve the best. May Hashem bless you with good health and happiness in your new life with Joel. (It's so cute that he is a friend of Moshe's too.) Mazel Tov to you and your family and please give regards to your parents. Bet they are walking on clouds! Love Rose and Bob Wolfeld
(26-Jan-09)
