Yeshiva women’s tennis looks to win its first Skyline Conference championship since 1999 tomorrow and become the first women’s program in school history to earn an NCAA tournament bid. Let’s go Macs!

The Maccabees (9-1) will battle the No. 3 seeded Knights of Mount Saint Mary College for the conference championship on Sunday. The match will take place at the USTA National Center, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Yeshiva won two out of three doubles matches in the semifinal, and won all three completed singles flights, to earn a spot in the championship match.

“We are thrilled to be going to the Skyline Conference final,” Yeshiva head coach Naomi Kaszovitz said. “We could not have gotten here without the diligence of all our players. They have been giving it their all, they’ve earned this.”

Senior Shani Hava and junior Rebecca Packer teamed up to earn a convincing win in the first doubles position, 8-0. Hava came back to dominate at #1 singles, once again not dropping a single game.

Sophomore Bailey Frohlich and classmate Michal Ladenheim cruised to a win at the third doubles position, 8-2. Frohlich won every game at #5 singles, while Ladenheim clinched the semifinal victory for the Maccabees by winning the sixth singles position, 6-1, 6-2.

Yeshiva will look to win its first Skyline championship since 1999, and be the first women’s program to earn an NCAA bid in school history.

“We are hoping to come home with the conference championship,” Kaszovits said.
