What does this yellow star look like to you?

Pictures of a plaid Miu Miu Dress in the window of Canadian Luxury retailer Holt Renfrew surfaced the internet over the weekend. Comments on Facebook blew up that the star on the dress had shocking resemblance of the “Jewish star” of the Holocaust. Many are arguing that this star has five points and not six, like a Jewish star has. Overall, the placement of the star and symbolism had many extremely upset.

Miu Miu is sister brand of Prada. It seems that they were going for a “school” look with plaids, denims, and “badges”. The star was meant to go along with that style.

In a statement, Plener, the vice presdient of Holt Renfrew said, “It was brought to our attention today that a garment being sold at Holt Renfrew caused offence. Based on customer feedback we have removed the garment from store windows and floors. We apologize for any upset that this may have caused and want to reassure customers that this was not our intention.”
