The IDF conducted an overnight raid Wednesday in the Judea and Samaria town of Silwad, the hometown of 21-year-old Palestinian terrorist Malek Ahmad Mousa Hamed, who recently carried out a vehicular attack against Israelis.

Hamed rammed his car into a crowded bus stop on Route 60 in Judea and Samaria, killing 20-year-old soldier Elhai Teharlev and wounding another Israeli.

Following the raid, the IDF said the operation was “part of the ‘concept of expanded prevention’ for taking action against all the circles of support for the terrorist and his family.”

Cash valued at $23,000 and three stolen cars were seized in the raid. An improvised submachine gun was also confiscated by security forces in the town of Sanur.

The overnight raid follows several similar operations by security forces in Judea and Samaria throughout 2017, including the arrest of a Palestinian lawmaker and a spokesman for the Hamas terror group early Wednesday morning near Ramallah.
