PICTURE OF THE DAY: Moment Of Liberation From ‘Death Train’

This recently release pictures shows what it would have been like if you were a Jew in 1945 and had just been liberated from a “death train” on its way to the gas chambers. This image was taken toward the end of war in Farsleben when US troops intercepted the Theresienstadt-bound train and liberated 2,500 people.

One can’t help notice the expression and body language on the emaciated girl to the left, who is in the background of this picture.
