A Letter From One Family Fund
Website: http://www.onefamilyfund.org
Dear Friends,
Terrorism leaves huge voids in the lives of survivors. When family
members are
killed or seriously injured, whole lives are shattered. Our mission
at the One Family Fund is to rebuild these devastated lives as completely
and as compassionately as
possible.
One of the things that terrorism often takes away from its victims
is the ability to celebrate. Whether it's a holiday or family event,
the memory of what was and is no longer is a source of tremendous pain
for those left behind, and this is particularly acute during those times
when victims should be celebrating with their loved ones.
One Family is proud to join with OnlySimchas.com in launching the Special
Initiative to Match Celebrations and Heighten Awareness (S.I.M.C.H.A.)
fund, to
assist victims of terrorism in bringing a measure of happiness back
into
their lives. By sponsoring a Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, Brit Milah, and
wedding
celebration, you are showing the victims and survivors that life can
go on and that they can celebrate happy occasions, which will bring
a measure of normalcy back into their lives.
OnlySimchas.com was launched so that Jewish people throughout the world
who are celebrating happy occasions can share them with others via the
Internet. Together we are taking this concept one step further, by sharing
the Simchas of those around the world with the Simchas of those in Israel
who have been directly hurt by terrorism.
Our sages tell us, "It is a great Mitzvah to be happy". It
is even more worthwhile to make others happy and facilitate their celebration.
Through the S.I.M.C.H.A. fund, OnlySimchas and its members, together
with One Family, are achieving this aim.
Because we really are one family.
Sincerely,
The One Family Fund
